Abstract

This paper explores how IMDb, a prominent movie review website, aggregates user-generated movie evaluations to form an integrated public sphere.In contemporary digital cultures, online platforms like IMDb play a significant role in shaping public opinion. This paper aims to analyze the extent to which such platforms constitute a public sphere by examining user interactions and content dissemination.The analysis focuses on the impact of user participation on public discourse within IMDb, using the example of the movie Joker, which was highly rated by IMDb users.
