Optical fiber automatic monitoring technology is an on-line intelligent system designed for the actual operation, maintenance, and management of optical fiber networks. It achieves real-time automatic monitoring with advanced alarm, testing, database, and networking technologies as its core. This includes automatic analysis of alarm information and automatic fault localization, which can assist on-site maintenance and management personnel in automatically monitoring the condition of optical cable lines to ensure stable transmission quality. The distribution of well sites in Changqing Oilfield is characterized by wide coverage, long lines, and numerous points, which makes the extraction technology challenging and the related industries complex. In particular, the optical fiber network has become the main infrastructure supporting a variety of oil and gas production operations. However, maintenance of this network faces issues such as heavy reliance on manual inspection, which is extensive and difficult to guarantee quality. This paper preliminarily discusses the application of optical fiber automatic monitoring technology in the petroleum industry, considering the advantages of the current technology and the characteristics of the oilfield industry.
