Abstract

This review focuses on the expression characteristics, molecular regulatory mechanisms, and potential clinical applications of miR-143 in maxillofacial tumors. Recent studies have highlighted the role of miR-143 in various types of maxillofacial tumors, including oral squamous cell carcinoma and salivary gland tumors, raising its potential as a diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target. We explore the interactions of miR-143 with key signaling pathways such as PI3K/AKT and Wnt/β-catenin, emphasizing its regulatory effects on tumor cell proliferation, apoptosis, invasion, and metastasis. Additionally, the role of miR-143 in tumor microenvironment remodeling and chemotherapy resistance is discussed, providing insights into the complex tumor biology. The review concludes with an outlook on gene therapy strategies based on miR-143, aiming to improve treatment outcomes in patients with maxillofacial tumors.
