By examining and comparing the theories of Hayden White and Althusser, this paper probes into the origin of Hayden White's thought and Althusser's, including the application of structuralism methods, ideological theory borrowing. At the same time, White kept consistent with Althusser in his attention and criticism of ideological issues, and expanded Althusser's ideological theory through the analysis of the development process and nature of history.
