Abstract

Insomnia is one of the most common comorbidities in patients with malignant tumors. Decrease in sleep quality or insufficient sleep time during the onset of the tumor and throughout the treatment process can be categorized as cancer-related insomnia. Lack of sleep will increase the risk of cancer, and even directly or indirectly promote the growth and proliferation of tumors, and may induce other physical symptoms as well as psychological abnormalities to improve the patient's sleep and living conditions. In recent years, the scientific community's interest in CRI has been growing. In this paper, we will review the mechanism of malignant tumor-related insomnia and the different diagnostic and therapeutic options in Chinese and Western medicine, with a view to promoting better treatment of CRI.
