Abstract

With the evolution of human languages and the increasing interaction of human civilizations, the asymmetry of translation is becoming severer and acuter, the outdated translation methods are no longer applicable in current situations. Many English words' meaning cannot be understood by Chinese, a variety of proper nouns' translation versions urge a systematic and standard regulation in the filed of translation. This thesis collects commonly-made translation errors from a wide range of materials as well as our daily life, using empirical study method to analyse these pitfalls and offer solutions in order to make a cultural equivalence.
