Abstract

Ivanh tells the heroic story of Richard the Lion Heart, who returned home after the Crusade failed, and who almost single-handedly flattened the domestic rebellion and regained the throne with only a few old generals around him. It reflects and confirms the distinctive chivalry in Scott's historical novels.
