Abstract

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a powerful tool that has played a significant role in surveying engineering. This paper aims to explore the application and role of GIS in surveying engineering. By analyzing the basic principles of GIS, its technical characteristics, and specific application cases in the field of surveying, we demonstrate how GIS improves the efficiency and accuracy of surveying engineering. Furthermore, we discuss the important roles of GIS in areas such as map production, land management, and natural disaster monitoring. Through an in-depth study of GIS applications, we can better understand its potential in surveying engineering and provide valuable insights for future development.
