The art of diplomatic discourse plays a vital role in international relations. As a bridge between different languages and cultures, translation plays a key role in the communication and understanding of diplomatic discourse. By analyzing the characteristics of diplomatic discourse and the functions of translation in international relations, this paper discusses how to better use the translation strategy in diplomatic practice and promote international exchanges and cooperation. In addition, challenges in the translation of diplomatic discourse such as cultural differences, linguistic ambiguity and political sensitivity are discussed and strategies to address these challenges are proposed. Finally, this paper emphasizes the importance of cultivating professional diplomatic translators to enhance the voice and influence in the international discourse system.
