This paper reviews the application and research progress of future thinking in managing diabetes, obesity, substance addiction, and mood disorders. It explores how future thinking can enhance health decision-making, self-management, and mental well-being. Suggestions for future research directions are also provided. This review aims to offer insights into effectively applying future thinking in chronic and mental illness health management strategies.
