In order to effectively check the bearing capacity of the concrete arch bridge, taking a bridge with a main span of 180m as the engineering background, aiming at the characteristics that there is a stress difference in the cross-section of the main arch ring but the deformation is coordinated, combined with the finite element software, based on the existing "Design Specification for Masonry Bridge and Culvert of Highway" for checking the ultimate bearing capacity of the main arch ring, the formula for reducing the cross-section bearing capacity of the cable-hoisted concrete arch bridge considering the stress gradient was derived, and the above-derived formula for reducing the cross-section bearing capacity was compared with the current specification. The results show that: the calculation results according to the derived formula for reducing the cross-section bearing capacity are consistent with the values of the current specification in terms of the pattern, and all of them are on the small side, and a reduction coefficient of 0.945 is obtained. It is recommended that when calculating the concrete arch bridge using the cable-hoisted staged arch-forming method according to the current specification, the reduction coefficient of 0.945 should be taken into account.
