Patient Journey Map (PJM), as a systematic visualization tool, can be used to present the key stages, experiences, and needs of patients within the healthcare process, and its value in medical education has become increasingly prominent. Drawing upon a review of the relevant literature, the current status of research on PJM in medical education is examined from the perspectives of conceptual evolution, methodological development, teaching application scenarios, evaluation of application effects, and future challenges, to provide both a theoretical foundation and practical reference for optimizing medical teaching models and further advancing the concept of patient-centered education.
