In recent years, global climate change has led to frequent extreme weather events, and the impact of climate risks on corporate operations has become increasingly prominent. This paper takes Chinese A-share listed companies from 2009 to 2024 as samples and uses a double fixed-effect model to explore the impact mechanism of climate risks on corporate ESG performance. This paper expands the theoretical framework of non-financial risk transmission mechanisms, reveals the regulatory roles of internal and external paths and policy environments, provides a new perspective for understanding corporate climate response behaviors, and puts forward corresponding policy suggestions.
