Abstract

This Rube-Goldberg machine links together seven principles of physics over a time span of at least 14 seconds: elastic collision, inelastic collision,  torque, conservation of energy, conservation of momentum, projectile motion in two dimensions, and circular motion.  The biggest challenge of this machine is that we have to do it on the computer by Blender, thus I need to learn how to use the software to simulate the processes of the machine. After building the machine, I use Tracker to analyze the data from the machine and reveal the physical principles in the machine.
