Based on Sigmund Freud's theory of personality structure, this study makes an in-depth analysis of personality traits of six main characters in the works " The Ordinary World ", and draws the following conclusions by using the methods of literature review, and observation and recording and theoretical analysis: Wang Manyin and Tian Futang are egotists who are intemperate and selfish. Sun Shaoan and Tian Runye are realists who are sane and thinking. Sun Shaoping and Tian Fujun are idealists who are noble and perfect. At the same time, we get three enlightenments through the research: one is that the personality is relatively stable and dynamic development. the second is that the external environment aggravates the change of personality structure. the third is that the analysis of the personality characteristics of literary works has practical guiding significance.
