Blockchain technology, as an emerging distributed database technology, is changing the way various fields develop. This article focuses on ideological and political education in higher education institutions and explores the role of blockchain technology in this context. Firstly, it introduces the background and significance of ideological and political education in the online realm. Then, it discusses the basic principles of blockchain technology and its applications in ideological and political education. Furthermore, it analyzes the advantages and challenges of using blockchain technology in ideological and political education in higher education institutions. Finally, it summarizes the role of blockchain technology in ideological and political education and suggests directions for further research.
