Art and Cultural Education under Governmental Policy: Perspectives from Museum Learning and School Curriculums in the UK

Abstract

After realizing that culture is an important part of soft power, countries worldwide are taking measures to conserve and promote their own culture. This article holds that cultural learning is the core of the cultural policy by examine a research project took place in the UK, and illustrates how cultural conservation programs are being performed in local schools by cooperation with non-profit social institutions, before commenting on the pros and cons of the British model of cultural education.
