Abstract

Illustration design is an artistic design work that combines cultural and creative elements with modern design techniques. Shaanxi Shadow Play is an ancient traditional opera art, which has precipitated the labor wisdom of Liaonan people for hundreds of years and embodies people's expectations for a better future life. In the long-term development and evolution, it is divided into two completely different styles: the East Road and the West Road. This paper mainly focuses on the Shaanxi East Road Huaxian Shadow Play, analyzes the artistic features of the Huaxian Shadow Play, and then draws inspiration from the elements of Huaxian Shadow Play such as lines, colors, and stylistic language for illustration creation. By combining the common characteristics of illustration design and Shaanxi Huaxian Shadow Play art, the Shaanxi Huaxian Shadow Play art is revitalized in modern illustration design.
