Evaluation and Design of Textbook

Abstract

English textbook is of great significance in students’ language input. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the quality of textbook from the perspective of authenticity, which is related to students’ engagement with the tasks in the textbook. The study found that reading tasks may not be authentic to meet students’ learning needs. Then some suggestions on material adaptation and supplementation will be given in this paper.
