Analysis on the Improper Use of Word in English Writing--A Case Study of English Major Students

Abstract

English majors are prone to be in a dilemma of choosing proper words while writing essays. Taking 78 essays of English majors in Yuxi Normal University as research subjects, this study analyzed the problems of improper words choosing among these essays (the problems of improper use of word in these essays are analyzed) from four aspects: correctness, appropriacy, conciseness and diversity. Finally, four corresponding solutions were put forward accordingly.
