Acceptability of China English Collocations

Abstract

This paper attempts to investigate native Chinese speakers and non-native Chinese speakers’ attitude towards China English by comparing their acceptability of China English collocations. The study finds that the two groups show a similar acceptability of the China English collocations although they have different opinions on the most acceptable and unacceptable collocations. As for their attitudes towards China English, native Chinese speakers at abroad tend to be more strict with China English. In addition, neither native Chinese speakers nor non-native Chinese speakers know clearly about China English.
