Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on the production and life of all human beings. In this paper, we investigate the differences in the impact of COVID-19 on innovation and entrepreneurial willingness among different sample groups by collecting relevant data through a questionnaire and using the mood median test. The results show that the COVID-19 pandemic does have a great impact on the sample population's willingness to innovate and start businesses, but there is no significant difference between males and females, while the sample population of different age groups and the sample population at different stages show significant differences. Relatively, the COVID-19 pandemic had minimal impact on the 17 to 22-year-old sample and a significantly higher impact on graduates than on students in school. This shows that despite the huge impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on people's normal production and life, young people have the courage and momentum to fear failure. Therefore, to ease the pressure on employment and promote the development of the local economy, we should actively encourage university students to innovate and start their businesses and create various convenient conditions and measures to this end.
