Interlanguage Fossilization in English Writing of English Majors

Abstract

Based on the theory of interlanguage and error analysis, this paper takes English majors as the research object, analyzes interlanguage fossilization in learners' English writing with the quantitative research method, in order to analyze the types and frequency of interlanguage fossilization in learners' English writings. The result shows that interlanguage fossilization does exist in sophomores of English majors, and some errors occur repeatedly, so this study aims to improve this phenomenon through Teaching English Writing.
