Blended Learning Attitudes, Engagement, and Effectiveness among Chinese EFL College Students

Abstract

The sudden outbreak of the new corona-virus in 2020 has promoted the vigorous reform of education based on information technology. Blended learning makes most of both the advantages of traditional teaching and online ones. The study aimed to evaluate students’ attitudes toward blended learning, engagement and effectiveness of Chinese college EFL students in blended learning. The study also explored the influence of independent variables such as gender, age, major and blended teaching mode, the potential factors affecting students' attitude, engagement and effectiveness in English learning. Using the statistical software SPSS 23.0 to test the reliability and validity, the questionnaire data were analyzed, and the potential factors affecting Chinese EFL students' English learning attitude, engagement and effectiveness under blended learning mode were analyzed, so as to provide feasible suggestions for teaching reform and English teaching in colleges and universities.
