Abstract

Due to the rising concern of environmental pollution and energy shortage nowadays, the environmentally-friendly wind energy has attracted extensive attention. Among all kinds of wind turbines, three-bladed rotors tend to be the most energy efficient..Many factors may result in the unexpected reactions of the structure, with the simulating help of Comsol Multiphysics, wind turbines with wind turbines under changeable inlet wind speeds (1.5,5,10,15 m/s) have been simulated respectively. A place under high wind speeds is favourable for wind turbines to generate electricity. In the thesis, it will concentrate on the discussion of structural behaviors on turbines when blades meet fluid air. Generally, the analysis of fluid-structure interaction is based on the knowledge of structure mechanism and fluid dynamics. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) offers a standard wind turbine design in IEC 61400-1. IEC 61400-1 Wind turbines-Part 1 Design Requirements[1]. In the report, it provides what is the wind turbine system in detail, which includes how to control and protect mechanisms, internal electrical systems, mechanical systems and support structures.
