This article defines the basic concept and connotation of the "four abilities" of college students, analyzes the problems existing in the cultivation and practice of the "four abilities" of college students, proposes the basic ideas and training approaches to strengthen the "four abilities" of college students, and summarizes our methods and practical achievements in strengthening the cultivation of the "four abilities" of college students. At the same time, it also analyzed the urgency and necessity of cultivating talents with innovative spirit and entrepreneurial ability in China in the future period, as well as the influencing factors of cultivating and improving the "four abilities" of college students, and proposed the significance and path of strengthening the cultivation of college students' employment and entrepreneurial ability.
