Abstract

Taking Guangxi University of Foreign Languages as an example, this paper primarily investigates language assessment literacy of novice in-service English teachers through questionnaires and interviews, aiming to gain an in-depth understanding of the current status of language assessment literacy among novice front-line English teachers at private colleges and universities, and summarize the effective ways of improving the novice in-service English teachers’ language assessment literacy. It is hoped that this investigation can draw the attention from tertiary institutions regarding the development of language assessment literacy for novice in-service English teachers, and ultimately provide some references and suggestions for the enhancement of language assessment literacy among novice in-service English teachers.
