With the development of higher education, universities are playing an increasingly important role in economic and social development. Taking Anji Campus of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology as an example, this paper discusses the specific role of universities in promoting regional economic growth and optimizing consumption structure through questionnaires, interviews and field investigations. It is found that universities, as an important place to train talents, are of great significance to the sustainable development of regional economy. The purpose of this paper is to provide theoretical support and practical reference for universities and local governments to realize the sustainable development of regional economy.
