With the increasingly frequent international economic exchanges and the increasing demand for English talents, colleges and universities have increasingly recognized the importance of cultivating students' awareness of cross-cultural communication and improving their practical ability. However, in English teaching, there are some problems in the traditional teaching mode, which cannot meet the needs of the society for English applied talents. Therefore, based on the perspective of cross-cultural communication, this paper explored the sustainable development model of green and ecological college English teaching, and put forward the construction strategies of ecological teaching model, such as building a multicultural and ecological teaching environment, establishing ecological teaching goals, etc. In this paper, the traditional teaching mode and ecological teaching mode were studied experimentally. The research showed that the ecological teaching mode can improve students' English learning efficiency by 2.98% and their oral English expression ability by 5.6%.
