This paper explores the significant role of the departmental library in the construction of first-class majors in applied undergraduate colleges. By analyzing its role in teaching support, scientific research assistance, promotion of discipline construction, and cultural heritage, the challenges faced by the library are elaborated, and corresponding development strategies are proposed, including resource integration, service innovation, personnel quality improvement, and cooperation and exchange. The aim is to provide references for improving the service quality of the departmental library and promoting the construction of first-class majors.
