The Application of Inquiry Learning Approach in the Teaching of English Public Speaking

Abstract

The inquiry learning approach, which emphasizes the development of students' ability to identify, analyze and solve problems independently or under the guidance of their teachers, is highly compatible with public speaking instruction. This paper aims to explore the application paths of the inquiry learning approach in the public speaking course and the effects of its implementation on enhancing students' participation, strengthening their speaking confidence, promoting their independent thinking and autonomous learning.
