With the development of economy, technology and materials science, many building decoration materials with different functions have been invented and created. However, many building decoration materials will emit chemical pollutants harmful to human health, such as formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, radon and total volatile organic compounds (TVOC). These toxic substances will cause harm to people's vision, skin, internal organs and other different parts, and even cause cancer and immediate death. This paper studies and summarizes the types and sources of common pollutants in indoor building decoration materials, as well as their impact on the environment and harm to human health, which is of great practical significance to avoid chemical pollution of building decoration materials.
