In recent years, the employment situation for finance and taxation majors in provincial universities has become increasingly challenging, making the cultivation of competitive graduates a key goal of higher education. Taking a provincial university as a case study, this research analyzes the main challenges currently facing students’ employability and explores effective pathways and teaching practice strategies for improvement. The study finds that the key factors influencing employability include the foresight of the knowledge system, the depth of practical ability development, and the overall enhancement of professional competencies. Accordingly, this paper proposes a “Knowledge–Ability–Quality” integrated cultivation system, aiming to comprehensively enhance students’ employability through curriculum optimization, deepened university-industry cooperation, construction of innovative practice platforms, and implementation of career competency training camps. Based on typical teaching cases, the study summarizes the practical outcomes and experiences, and points out directions for future improvement.
