This study examines the challenges encountered in translating English literary texts, with the aim of helping a broader readership appreciate the inherent artistic value of such works and connect more closely with the authors' creative intentions. Drawing on Hofstede's cultural dimension theory, the research investigates the divergences between Eastern and Western cultural systems to deepen comprehension of these disparities and to formulate corresponding translation approaches. Findings indicate that applying this theoretical framework allows translators to identify and bridge cross-cultural gaps during the rendering process, thereby adopting more rigorous translation methodologies. Consequently, rendering English literature with sensitivity to East–West cultural variation enhances translation quality, while the judicious selection of strategies ensures a fuller articulation of the source text's underlying meaning.
