Abstract

As the “Great Ideological and Political Course” initiative advances, the Third Classroom has become an important extension of ideological and political education in college foreign language courses beyond the First and Second Classrooms. Although it has considerable theoretical value, its practical application remains exploratory and faces several challenges. To tackle these challenges, the ideological‑political construction of foreign language courses via the Third Classroom needs systematic promotion. In theory, it is imperative to clarify concepts and establish a clear cognitive framework. In practice, the implementation efficiency should be enhanced through goal guidance, resource development and institutional guarantee. In resource integration, efforts should be made to break down inter-departmental barriers within colleges, deepen college-community cooperation, and promote the linkage among the three classrooms. These measures can help integrate the three classrooms, improve the “Three All-Round Education” pattern, and enhance the educational effectiveness of college foreign language courses.
