Curriculum-based ideological and political education—the systematic embedding of value guidance within disciplinary instruction—serves as a core vehicle for integrating subject teaching with moral education, offering a new pedagogical approach for cultivating high-skilled talent in higher vocational colleges. Programs in equipment manufacturing at higher vocational institutions bear the critical mission of supplying frontline technical personnel to China's manufacturing industry, making the normalization of this approach an imperative. Taking the equipment manufacturing specialty in higher vocational education as its research object, this paper conducts a systematic study across four dimensions: the theoretical connotation of curriculum-based ideological and political education, its value for talent cultivation within the industry, the existing problems in current integration, and multi-dimensional implementation pathways. Using core courses such as Hydraulic Transmission as a case, it deconstructs ideological and political elements and explores their classroom implementation, proposing strategies adapted to the practical training context of higher vocational education. The study yields an implementable and replicable teaching model that helps resolve the "two skins" problem—the persistent disconnect between subject teaching and moral education—and provides a practical reference for curriculum-based ideological and political education in equipment manufacturing programs at comparable higher vocational colleges.
