Exploration and Practice of Combination of English Teaching and Education for Ideology and Politics in Colleges

In recent years, education of China has been constantly reformed to meet the needs of contemporary talent training, improve the quality education and ideological education of talents, and create high-quality talents with all-round development. General secretary Xi Jinping proposed that the integration of education for ideology and politics in university courses will provide new ideas for the reform and upgrading of English teaching in college. In the process of language learning, English teaching can also expand the ideological and political content to students and popularize cultural and ideological content involved in the language. This paper analyzes the purpose and necessity of combination of English teaching and education for ideology and politics, and explore and practice ways to integrate English teaching with education for ideology and politics to promote the quality of English teaching and that of education for ideology and politics.
