Local universities have played an important role in winning the battle against poverty. In the stage of connecting poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, with the advantages of geography, talents and intelligence, and local governments’ supports, they are still a new force in rural construction. Taking Yan’an University, a local university, as an example, this paper discusses the long-term mechanism of local universities’ participation in education assistance for rural revitalization, according to its practical path of participating in rural construction through building college and local government cooperation practice bases, carrying out rural construction consulting services, strengthening rural construction talents training and carrying out rural construction services.
