The establishment and improvement of the "three complete education" system and mechanism and the acceleration of the service system of Ideological and political work in colleges and universities are the inevitable product of complying with the essential characteristics of Ideological and political work in colleges and universities, responding to the practical needs of Ideological and political work in colleges and universities, and integrating into the trend of Ideological and political work in colleges and universities. The operation mechanism of Ideological and political work in colleges and universities is mainly composed of subject, object, intermediary and ring body. Its basic components mainly include the linking mechanism of leading cadres, coordination linkage mechanism, the combined mechanism of the whole line, the dynamic excitation system and other operation modes. Only by scientifically defining the meaning of each factor and improving their respective operation modes can we build a new mechanism of Ideological and political work in colleges and universities with full activation of the subject, full coverage of the object, full integration of the media and the body, and strong protection of the environment and the body.
