Abstract

With the acceleration of globalization, English translation has become an increasingly crucial tool for promoting cultural exchange. However, mere language proficiency is no longer sufficient to meet the demands of the field. This paper explores the significance and approaches of incorporating ideological and political education into English translation major courses. It analyzes the theoretical foundation and relevance of this integration, emphasizing the importance of nurturing a sense of responsibility, enhancing cultural confidence, and fostering innovation. The paper discusses avenues such as curriculum design, teaching methods, and textbook selection to achieve this integration. Ultimately, it underscores the value of this fusion in cultivating well-rounded translation professionals and promoting international cultural exchange. Such integration holds the promise of making a positive contribution to cross-cultural communication.
